IDC Online recommends about many cases of servers infected with Ransomware (encryption for ransom)

Dear Customer!

First of all, IDC Online JSC (IDC Online) sincerely thank you for trusting and using our services.

Recently, IDC Online has been informed about there are many Customers who have a data encryption attack. Their server infected with Ransomware (encryption for ransom) and many cases, they have to pay money to get data from Hackers. Even, there is a case, they have paid but no data can be recovered.

Therefore, IDC Online once again recommends to customers to take the following precautions:

+ Do not use End of support and End of life operating systems and software.

+ Use a hard firewall or a soft firewall, turn on the Firewall feature, IPtable is available on the server, lim it IP access to the system, restrict public ports Remote Desktop: 3389, ssh:22, SMB port:139, 445, etc... Don’t use unsecured ports (http, fpt, etc…), disable unnecessary ports.

+ Perform vulnerability scans, and update security patches for systems periodically, patching high and critical vulnerabilities.

+ Perform regular data backup, store in another location or download locally to ensure easy data retrieval.

+ Install Antivirus and update signature regularly

+ Use strong passwords, change passwords periodically, and review retired accounts.
